Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actress. She received the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. The actress speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian proficiently. Her mother played the violin The father of her is a theater instructor in one of Romania's top drama schools. The award was presented to her as the Best Female Actor of the Year in 2000 Award for the young Actor Gala Mangalia. She was crowned European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. Alongside her impressive acting in her debut feature film, the actress will also be recognized for her performance in the Romanian art-film 4 Months 3 weeks as well as 2 Days which won her many awards including winning the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 week si 2 zile (4 Three Weeks 4 Months 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). She also appeared as a character in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she starred as Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca starred in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the movie Fury (2014), she played Irma the German woman, who played Emma's aunt.
